David graduated from the Newcastle-Upon-Tyne School of Physiotherapy in 1987 and was fortunate enough to work as the 1st Team Physiotherapist for Fulham Football Club, under the chairmanship of Jimmy Hill. Following this, he gained further valuable experience through roles in the NHS and in private physiotherapy clinics across the North-East of England. After a rewarding eight-month period in The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Out-Patient Physiotherapy Department, he and a colleague (also a physiotherapist) founded Active Life Physiotherapy Centre in 1992. Over time, circumstances changed, and he eventually became the sole Director of Active Life Physiotherapy Limited when the business incorporated in 2003.
David has always enjoyed the challenge presented by all aspects of Musculo-Skeletal Physiotherapy. Throughout his career, he has regularly attended post-graduate courses and kept up to date with the latest physiotherapy techniques and developments in areas such as spinal examination and treatment, lower limb biomechanical assessment and treatment, dynamic stability evaluation and treatment, and sports physiotherapy. In 2013, he became involved with the Jockeys Injury Management Team, which provided him with the opportunity to offer physiotherapy support to Professional Jockeys on racedays at Fakenham Racecourse, along with occasional cover at other venues across the country.
Outside of work, David’s interests are largely centred around the rewarding demands of family life, complemented by the occasional round of golf, taking part in hillclimb or sprint events in his car, and running and cycling to maintain fitness.
