Shoulder pain can come on suddenly following an injury or develop gradually over time, often making simple tasks — such as reaching overhead, getting dressed or lifting objects — unexpectedly difficult. We treat a wide range of shoulder conditions including frozen shoulder, rotator cuff problems, tendon irritation, postural-related pain and instability.
Your physiotherapist will begin with a detailed assessment to understand how your shoulder is moving, which structures are irritated and what may be contributing to the problem. Treatment may include hands-on therapy, mobility work, targeted strengthening and guidance on improving posture and movement habits. We will also help you understand how to manage pain flare-ups and protect your progress as your shoulder recovers.
The aim isn’t only to reduce pain — but to restore confident, comfortable function whether you’re active in sport, busy at work or simply want to move without hesitation.
Duration varies depending on the condition and severity. Some people improve quickly, while others — such as those with frozen shoulder — may need longer-term support. Your physiotherapist will give clear expectations from the start.
Manual therapy, exercise rehabilitation, mobility training, postural guidance and activity modification. Acupuncture or dry needling may also be used where appropriate.
Scans are not always required. If we suspect a structural issue that needs further investigation — such as a significant tear — we will advise you appropriately.
Yes. Strengthening the shoulder and improving movement control can reduce strain and improve resilience long-term.
